Jim Ahlborn

President

Jim Ahlborn is an accomplished executive with more than 30 years of experience leading global manufacturing and consumer products businesses through periods of growth, transformation, and value creation. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for strengthening organizations by combining disciplined financial leadership with operational excellence, strategic acquisitions, and customer-focused innovation. 

Prior to joining 35 Capital, Jim served as President and CEO of Suncast Corporation, where he led dramatic growth both domestically and internationally through new product launch, new market penetration, an omnichannel sales strategy, and attained market leadership across multiple product categories. Earlier in his career, he held executive leadership positions with Hu-Friedy Manufacturing and Shure Incorporated, where he played key roles in strategic acquisitions, global expansion, digital transformation, and the successful sale of Hu-Friedy to a strategic buyer. He began his career with Deloitte and later served as CFO of Tuthill Corporation, helping expand the business into a global manufacturing enterprise. 

Jim earned his MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from DePaul University. He currently serves on the boards of Balcan Innovations and Wahl Clipper Corporation, and is an Advisory Board member of DePaul University.  Jim lives in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, with his wife, Sue, and his three daughters and enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
